Konsole oder PC|Console or pc

That´s the question. I have a good pc, with which I can play and enjoy all current PC games, but I am a console junkie. Why? Well there are several answers:

  • My console is in the living room and is connected with my shiny lcd tv
  • No patches or driver problems
  • One online system
  • Closed system –> none or only a few cheaters

But I have to fight against some prejudice like: Console games have always an aimbot, console graphic is crap, I can not install what I want on the console, and ego shooter´s are only playable with mouse and keyboard.

Well to be honest. The word aimbot I heard the first time in counter strike and I was a victim of this. There is some kind of aimbot in the most console games, but it´s more a help for rookies, not an aimbot where you press a button and you point on the target. To use a real aimbot on a console you must modify the hardware, but this problem is solved by Microsoft it self’s, it bans those people. I have nothing against modders, but there is no place for modders in online matches.

By the way, I love the gamepad, I love the analog sticks, of course I will never be so quick as a pc gamer with a 4000 dpi mouse, but I that’s not a problem, I only get nervous if I where so quick =)

The topics patches, driver and online system are for me the biggest ones. I have participated on so many LAN and Online Lans that where busted because of driver and patch problems. Either not all have the same patch level, or the network driver is beating down the graphic driver. And on the console. Open tray, insert disc, maybe installs an automatic patch and here we go.

But why complain pc gamers always over console gamer. Do they not know the system, are they ignorant or intolerant.

Arguments like, on the console you have always the optimal graphic because the developers knows which hardware do you got are nothing for pc gamers. Maybe they feel unattended, the game market for consoles is growing every year, but why, maybe it´s a reason of piracy. If you want to play copied games on your console you have to modify your hardware and then you see the banhammer. That´s is, I think, a reason why there are so many developers that are promote console and not concentrate on the platform pc.

Ok and then finally there is the online service. I LOVE XBL. Yeah and it´s ok to pay 5 bucks a month for this. On the pc there is nothing like this. That’s one reason why steam is so successful, one gateway for online purchase and play.

But that are only my two cents! =)
