Gestern hat mich ein Kollege gefragt, was ich von Apple halte und was die Vorteile eines Mac / iPhone sind.
Nun ja ich besitze kein iPhone (habe aber viele bekannte die eins haben), habe aber schon öfters mit Mac´s gearbeitet. Mein Fazit war, es gibt keinen großen Unterschied. Seit Apple sogar Intel Prozessoren verbaut ist der Unterschied immer kleiner geworden. Das Software Portfolio von beiden System ist gleichwertig.
Die Frage ist nun natürlich. was bewegt Leute sich einen Mac bzw. PC zu kaufen. Naja ich glaube die „I´m a Mac “ Werbespotts treffen da schon den Nagel auf den Kopf. Mac ist hipp, Mac ist cool, PC nehmen nur Spießer.
Also ist die Wahl einer Plattform ein Ausdruck der gefühlten Persönlichkeit, bzw. das was uns die Werbung suggeriert sein zu wollen? Sollte ich danach eine Entscheidung treffen? Naja die meisten Entscheidungen die wir treffen sind nun mal medien beeinflusst, aber mir deswegen ein iPhone zu kaufen, nur weil es ein App gibt, das die Super coole Blasenfolie simuliert? Nein. Ich bleibe bei meinem Windows Haushalt (Xbox, Mediacenter, Windows Mobile) das find ich besser und es gibt meiner Meinung auch weniger Nachteile. Wenn ich an Apple denke und das iPhone sehe ich nur Nachteile (AppStore (Apples Zensierung)) aber andere sehen das anderes, und das ist auch gut so. =)
Yesterdaqy my colleague ask me, what i think about apple and what are the pros/cons of a Mac / iPhone.
Well i got no iPhone (but many friends got one) and i often work with a Mac. But i think there is no big difference between a Mac and a PC. Since Apple use Intel CPU the difference is even smaller. The Software portfolio is even.
The question now is, why are some people buying a Mac and some a PC? Well i think the „I´m a Mac“ spots are a good hint. Mac is cool, PC is nerd.
So should i buy a platform as a expression of myself, or what the media say i should be? Should i do this? Ok the most decisions we made are grounded by the media, but should i buy a iPhone only because of the App that simulates Bubble Wrap? No. I am a Windows Fanboy =) I love my Xbox my Mediacenter and my Windows Mobile Phone. They have less cons. If i think especially on the iPhone i see to much cons. (AppStore (Apple censorship)), but maybe you have another opinion and thats great!
